Hi everyone,
I hope you’re finding joy in the little things this winter. Have you noticed how the light now lingers until nearly 5:45? Every time I close the drapes, I look at the clock, and that sound of spring in the air, and watching the growing daffodil stems in the garden, brings such a wonderful, hopeful feeling.
This winter, I had no major plans except working quietly on my new websites and preparing for the upcoming seasons of wellness workshops, Diwali events, and art. But on an impulse note, I gifted myself a solo trip to Queenstown for my birthday. My creative heart belongs to the South Island beauty— its stillness, colours, and crisp refreshing air give me a deep sense of inspiration.
One evening in Queenstown, I was by the lake after sunset. I was watching the glorious magic happening in front of me. I watch the sky colours magically shifting from deep blue to purple, to pink, then back to royal blue. It was freezing, but so breathtaking that none of us moved. It reminded me how art and nature are my greatest forms of meditation. Alone on that trip I created over 70 quick sketches — and now, a few new paintings of Southland taking shape.
